He was 85 years old and was the husband of the late Irene Zukoff Savoca. Born in Darien on April 8, 1915, Mr. Savoca was the son of the late Salvatore Savoca and Mary Riolo Savoca, who settled in Darien just after emigrating from Catania, Sicily in 1908. In his youth, Mr. Savoca made a living playing the saxophone and clarinet, led his own band and worked locally. Mr. Savoca then established a business with his late brother, James, with whom he ran the Savoca Brothers Barber Shop in Darien for more than 40 years. He is survived by a son, Michael D. Savoca; a daughter, Catherine M. Savoca, both of Darien; another son, Robert C. Savoca of Ridgefield; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Explorer Post 53, P.O. Box 2066, Darien CT 06820. The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien, CT handled the arrangements.
