Born in Uniontown, Pa., he was a Fairfield resident for more than 45 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had worked as a union truck driver and later as a dental technician. He enjoyed breeding and racing his homing pigeons. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 1040 and the Bridgeport Homing Pigeon Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Ann Koons; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services took place privately at the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home.
