Darien News-Review, Darien, CT Friday, November 24, 2000 Victor A. Blois Victor A. Blois, a resident of Sherman, died November 16 at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen Spearman Blois. He was the father of Janet Salamon of Darien. Born on August 23, 1915 in Stamford, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Rose Devita Blois. Mr. Blois had been a resident of Sherman since 1948 and was a Stamford original "Singing Cowboy," winning first prize on Major Bowes 1930's radio talent show. He was one of Stamford's first electrical contractors and developers, owner of Lincoln Electric Co. Mr. Blois was also the owner of Stamford's first powerboat recreational company, Whirlwind Inc. He was an avid skier and head electrical engineer at Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall. Mr. Blois also enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing. He was well known in Sherman for creating Wagon Wheel Estates waterfront community. In addition to his wife, Mr. Blois is survived by a son, Albert Blois of Stamford; a daughter, Janet Salamon of Darien; two step-sons, Anthony and John Chirllo of New York City; a brother, Julius (Bud) Blois of Stamford; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Mastrich and seven brothers, Albert, Edward George, William, Rudy, Frederick, and Roger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning in Holy Trinity Church in Sherman. Burial will be in Coburn Cemetery in Sherman. Family will receive friends in the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Road in New Milford Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the New Milford Hospital Oncology Unit, 21 Elm Street, New Milford, CT 06776.
