Born in Bridgeport on Sept. 22, 1906, the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Flynn Collins, she had been a Fairfield resident for 32 years and an Oronoque Village resident in Stratford for 20 years before moving to Bridgeport eight years ago. She was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Fay and Constance Collins, and a brother, Charles "Bud" Collins. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, George E. Johnston of Bridgeport; children, Charles C. Johnston of Juno Beach, Fla., Robert E. Johnston and his wife, Kathleen of Fairfield and Jerry J. Johnston and his wife, Janice, of Trumbull; a daughter-in-law, Loretta J. Johnston of Hingham, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place today at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Church, Stratford, with a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. The Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
