Actually, I'm open to any corrections that anyone might have who has better info than I do. Recently I went through all the data that I've picked up from here and there on the Foote family, and I found out that quite a number of the individuals in there had as many as three or four conflicting dates and places of the same event (birth, death, marriage, etc.). None of my research is original; I don't have the resources to track down personally every piece of information that I'm looking for. So I've had to rely on the integrity of others. What I have done is noted the "original" source of each piece of information that I got (for example, if John Doe sent me something and told me that his authority was TAG or NEHGR or whatever, I'd use that authority rather than John Doe's name in my notes). If someone supplied me with information without citing a source, then I would note his or her name as my source. When I made my final entries into my FTM, I weighed the sources and took the one that seemed the most reliable. TAG seems to me to be a pretty reliable source, so I've tended to prefer that source when someone cited it. Unfortunately I don't have easy access to TAG, so I have to trust other people's quotes. If anyone's interested in my source for any individual piece of data, I'll try to find the time to check it out in the next week or two and fill him in. Right now I'm swamped because of work and home responsibilities, and I can't take the time over the next few days. Again, I'd like to hear from anyone else who has any corrections to my data. I want my records to be as accurate as possible! Thanx -- > > Doris (Up2Nutrix@aol.com) "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." -- Jim Elliot, missionary and martyr
