    3. Norm, et al, Regarding your question regading vertical files, here's the historical society's description from their web pages at www.stamfordhistory.org, under the Research Library heading... They've an index into the list, which was where I found John Keating's name. Also included are a 10-volume survey of Stamford’s historic structures, over 1200 vertical files containing information on local organizations, schools, government, biographies, transportation and churches & synagogues, city directories, W. P. A. Stamford Cemetery inscription volume. Regarding the information passed via email, quite pleased with the information. Even though it doesn't show a firm link, it does open up some new avenues of investigation. Good Searching!
