Dear Kay or others on the list: Is this TRUE? >.. you need to present proof of membership in an acceptable [to them] >society before they will look things up... This is or has been >Connecticut >law. If your membership is not acceptable, they will refer >you to a member >of the Connecticut Society to do the research for you. I have tried to get BMD records from the town clerk in Danbury but they no longer do mail requests (I live in Florida). I was told they would allow on-site research. How do I know what is "acceptable" membership? I read that the Connecticut State Dept. of Health also has these records but they were being microfilmed and were unavailable. Are they available yet? Seems difficult to get vital records in Connecticut! Pat Tampa _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
