Ct Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ct/Fairfield/13319 Surname: ------------------------- Hi, Nick-- I agree with my friend Ed about looking up the high school yearbooks, but have some suggestions to refine your search a little further. I grew up in Stamford around the time your mother did; she probably was about two years older than me. Since you were born at St. Joseph's Hospital and your uncle was a priest, my first guess would be that your birth mom was Catholic and most probably went to Stamford Catholic High School, which is now Trinity Catholic High on Newfield Avenue in Stamford. I would suggest you go back a few years further than Ed suggests; I graduated in 1969 so with the information about her age I would guess your mom graduated in 1967 or 66. Also, check with the Ferguson Library on Broad St. in Stamford to see if they have a phone book or yellow pages or city directory for those years and look up the building contractors. You might be able to match up a last name with someone who graduated from Catholic one of those years. That might get you closer. The library has a very good genealogy section and, I believe, also has a web site (www.fergusonlibrary.? com? gov? org? Try a search engine.) Finally, there are a number of organizations for adoptees trying to locate their families that can give you a lot of suggestions as well as support. One that comes to mind is ALMA (Adoptees Liberty Movement Association) which, I believe, is based in New York City. Good luck! Lois J.
