Hi, I just checked the web site www.civilwardata.com which lists soldiers who served during the war, and I do not see any Andrew Jackson Smith listed. There are a number of Andrew Smith's listed from different states, but I didn't go through the whole list. You might try posting on www.genforum.com on their Civil War site and see if anyone has a CT roster book and/or is able to check on whether he served from NY.
