It was either part of Stratford, Trumbull or Huntington but I have been unable to determine which. If you have the answer, please identify your source. Thank You >> Hello, someone asked that question on genforum.com and it was answered here: http://genforum.genealogy.com/ct/messages/368.html I cannot vouch for its accuracy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, there is a reference to Ripton as follows: "The first meeting house in Ripton was located about half a mile east of the present churches of Huntington Village a little way up the hill, on the north side of the road, where now are four grave-stones with inscriptions, and several others without any lettering or dates. The following are the inscriptions still remaining; several stones, doubtless, having been removed." Source: Orcutt, Rev. Samuel. I posted this on one of the pages at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctfairfi/pages/shelton/shelton_hntngcem3.htm Also, I checked Thomas Baldwin's 1853 A New and Complete Gazetteer of the United States., and it listed Ripton in Vermont, but not in Fairfield Co., CT.
