I have Morrells in Fairfield Co also. I don't have a lot of information on them as they came from Port Chester, NY and I have not yet gotten back there for more research. Lavinia Morrell was born 22 Dec 1842 In Port Chester, NY the dau of Elijah P Morrell and Angeline Ferris. She married Elah Ballard 8 Sep 1862 in Port Chester. She died 2 Jun 1895 in Stamford, Ct and is buried in High Ridge Cemetery there. Elijah P Morrell was born 5 Jul 1804 Rye, NY and died 12 Apr 1862 in Rye. He was the son of Rivers Morrell and Prudence. He was married to Angeline Ferris. I have found two Angeline Ferris' in the area and do not know which one he was married to. I am hoping some probate research will answer the question. The information came from his gravestone. His wife Prudence was born 1773 and died 1847. Their Children: Jane Morrell b 16 Mar 1795 d 22 Feb 1877 Elizabeth Morrell b 1798 d 1853 Amos Morrell b 1799 d 1859 m Phebe Lyon Samuel Morrell b 1800 d 1845 Elijah P Morrell They are buried in Rye, NY There may be more children.
