Hello everyone- My gr gr grandfather James William Palmer died in Bridgeport in 1885 of consumption. The fear of contagion was so great at the time that the bodies of TB sufferers were not allowed to be buried in the public cemeteries. While his wife and several more generations of the family are buried in the family plot at Union Cemetery, we have never been able to locate James' burial site. When we spoke with the Bridgeport officials they flatly told us to check all the cemeteries in the area. I've also checked the Hale collection with no results. Does anyone have any knowledge of what happened to these poor souls or have any suggestions? Thanks, Nancy Palmer _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/
