How are probate records filed in Connecticut? I got the FHC film of "Probate packets, 1648-1880 Fairfield County, CT", Fairweather, John - Foote" in hopes of finding probate packets for Field family members. I was surprised at how few packets were on the film. Are probate packets filed at the town level in most cases?
