I am new to the list and wanted to post the surname that I am researching. My husband descends from John PEAT 1597-1684. John came from Duffield Parish, County Derby, England, in the Hopewell in 1635. He was 38 years old when he came to America with his 15-year old daughter, Mary. John first married in England to a woman named CHARLES; he then married Margaret ALLECOCKE bet. 1621-22 in England. Margaret was the mother of Mary who emigrated to America with John. He married Ann PEAKE after 1635 in America. Two sons are attributed to his marriage to Ann, John PEAT, Jr. (1638-1678/80) and Benjamin PEAT (1640-1704). John (Sr.) died in Stratford in 1678. My gedcom is on World Connect at the following url. I am interested in all ancillary lines that tie to John PEAT. I welcome additions as well as corrections to this material. Living people, sources and notes are shielded on my World Connect site; however, I would be happy to supply further information to anyone researching these lines. http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=huds My husband's grandfather was 1..
