I have not been able to find information about Rebecca Towner's ancestors. I have found that they had 8 children born in New Fairfield. A daughter, Rebecca Vaughan, was born in the year 1760, according to an 1868 letter found among one of her descendants things. The letter was written by a daughter of Rebecca Towner Vaughan's daughter, Rebecca Vaughan who married Alexander Pennock. According to this letter, the granddaughter, Elizabeth R. Pennock Bunker, tells her granddaughter, Helen Perrine Roberts: My Father and Mother were from Connecticut, my mothers name was "Rebacah" Vaughan, she was born in the year 1760. Her mothers name was Rebacah Towner, my fathers name was Alexander Pennock. He was born in 1759, the first born, he had three brothers.. Grandpa died, grandma married "old Squire Benedict", she had two more Children, James, and Merilla she married a man by the name of Burton. I remember my great grandpa and grandma. The had a great deal of property, they were willing to help the needy so they were called good folks. I was born in Stratford, Orange Co, vermont, Elizabeth Pennock, the youngest. She describes her "connections" and some of the Pennock genealogy. She also talks about her own children. At the time she wrote the letter, from Greensburg Indiana, she was living with her son, Dr. Ledyard Cuyler Bunker.
