Smith, born (we think) about 1810-20 in Westport, Fairfield, Co. CT. He had at least one brother named Cornelius J. Smith. Family history says William was a manufacturer of thread in Westport but we have nothing to substantiate this claim. William m. Rebecca ??? in about 1840-41. Daughter Katie Smith was born in 1842 in Clay Co. IN. Do these people fit into anyone's Smith family? Does anyone know enough history of Westport to know whether there was a thread company there? This is all based on my grandmother's recollections but she was very old when she related them and couldn't offer specifics. Thanks for any help. Gayle
