However, the 1939 National Guard/Militia book does not contain an index. It will be helpful to me to know approximately where your ancestor lived and in what capacity he might have served the Guard i.e. Medical,Staff,Special Troops, etc. If you know what brigade or division or company even better. I know very little about military history but I am learning so bear with me please.

She was possibly born in 1760 most likely in Connecticut. The Dunnings were from Newtown and I have found Christian Wolfe in 1790 Southbury, Litchfield Co which is not far from Newtown. In 1800 I have found both David Dunning and Christian Wolf living a few houses down in Sandgate, Bennington VT. There is a possibility that Rebecca and Christian were married before. I cannot find any marriage records or birth records for any of their children. There was Truman 1789 probably born in Southbury and Amos 1799 probably born in Sandgate. However I have written Sandgate and they have no record. Rebecca's ancestry is very easy to find but I cannot find anything on her. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
