Edward was more prosperous and the house in Newtown had been a tavern ,at one time. James was a school teacher and his saltbox home was more modest and had some neat ,quirky places in it ...I grew up in a home that my dad designed and built.Years later ,we discovered my dad had built an almost identical house, like Edwards ,without even realizing it he had never seen it til my brother found it in his research. Some folks would call it a gambrel, but it was actually known as a Cape Anne. Unfortunately, in later years, new owners considered it a Dutch Colonial and painted the chimney white! It might be helpful to contact the various historical societies I mentioned, before. They should be able to give you and idea of burial locations ,in Stratford/Fairfield County,Ct.....I am most familliar with Edward and the cemetary on a back dirt road in Newton area. There is also a Samual ,buried in Woodbury,Connecticut.....and I know there are more Fairchilds in that area and Southbury,as well......I haven't been able to keep up on this, as much as I had planned ,but hope this may give you some areas to check out. Please let me know how it goes for you..

Many from my family/direct line from Thomas are in an old cemetary in Newtown Connecticut.....Samuel is there, too. Many markers are faded out, but someone has replaced one or two with new polished granite, when I was last there. The homes of Edward and James are right in that area and my brother and I were fortunate enough to be allowed a tour of each ,several years ago......Try also in Stratford and Fairfield,CT...Historical Societies etc. Fairchilds also moved to Weston Vermont ,near where I live now...around the time of the Revolution. Fairchilds are still there . I have also found Fairchilds in the phone book in the area of Biddeford. Maine.tho' I haven't tried to contact them..I was in correspondence with another Thomas direct line, in Canada....his ancester bought a mill, from Thomas in Fairfield.....hope this helps somewhat.. Kennedy) was in an automobile accident, somewhere in Fairfield County. My father was a passenger. I assume that the accident was reported in whatever local newspaper served the Greenwhich area at that time. I am hoping that the newspaper may still be available in a library, perhaps on microfilm. If so, I would like to try to get a copy of the newspaper story. I will appreciate advice.
