I just got a record that lists my ggrandmother's birthplace as: 5 Mile River, Norwalk CT/ New Canaan. The New Canaan Town Clerk does not have a record of her birth, which leaves me with the 5 Mile River part of this new record. Can anyone decipher this new information for me? Could I send a request to Norwalk for her birth record? She was born in 1825. Loreen Wells ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

He married Carmella Principe, and they had a son Vincent Melillo (1906--1971) who married my grandfather's cousin Antoinette Gabriele (1910--1991). Also, Marguerite Repole Melillo had a sister Olimpia Repole (1878--1927) who married my great-grand-uncle William LaPine (1872--1965.) I have more information on Vincent & Antoinette and Olimpia & William if you are interested. (It seems all Italian families in Danbury are linked in one way or another!)

Hi Edith, I live in Bethel, CT, and Putnam Park Road is what we also call Route 58 that heads down in to Redding, CT. I do not recall a cemetery along that road or did you mean that he lived on that road when he died? We have a couple of larger current cemeteries in town, one is a Catholic cemetery and the other is sort of the "town" cemetery. By the way, you can go to maps.google.com and get a pretty good view of the town and that road if you like.... You could write to the Bethel Town Clerk to request a copy of his death certificate. There is a good chance that it will delineate where he was buried. I would offer but work outside of town so cannot get in to the Town Clerk's office myself during working hours. A resource for the information is at: http://www.vitalrec.com/cttowns1.html#Bethel If you do, and since you appear to be from out of the area, I can probably head in to the cemetery some weekend and take a photo for you once you find out which one it is in. Good luck in your search! --Rob On Fri, 2006-05-26 at 14:24 +0100, Edith Talbot wrote: > HI All, > > An ancestor NORMAN D TALBOT died at 79, Putnam park road bethal, in > 1983, would anyone be able to advise where he may be buried or cremated, > or any advice as to how I may be able to find out any info on him, born > 1895 in IL > Father was DAVID TALBOT born Scotland uk mother JANE maiden surname > HATELY > Any help welcome > > > edith talbot > > > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection. I am originally from Trumbull but I don't know if I can help you much. White Plains is a section of Trumbull (formerly Stratford or I think it may have been called North Stratford but don't quote me on that. The only other thing I know about White Plains is that it is a road in Trumbull. There is a historical society for Trumbull too but I don't have the web site handy. Any other questions about Trumbull you can email me as my parents & sister still live there so I frequently go there (I live in CT also but on the other end of the state). Where would I find the early 1900 vital records for Shelton, CT? Since it was a bourough of Huntington, would they be in Huntington or Shelton? Or some place else? I am going up there so I can call before I go and ask but thought I would save myself a phone call. I may be able to do a few lookups if you can get back to me quickly as I plan on going tomorrow. Thanks. JUDY
