Patty, I found the death certificate for Stephen W. Treadwell, father of Melinda and Juliette. He died July 14, 1889 in Jersey City NJ at the age of 79. His fathers name was Chester and mothers name was Mary but no maiden name. It says he was born in Connecticut but no other info. Rochelle
Hello Sarah: Is it possible that any of the children dropped the "Mc" from the name and went with Redmond? I have a James Cyprian Redmond who was b. in 1885, m. Magt. L. Hart and whose parents (unknown) were either both b. in Ireland, or the mother in CT. This James says he was b. in NY. However, he lived and raised his family in Stamford. They lived in Fairfield Co. from about 1880 forward. They had seven children, Mariah, Nellie, James, Francis, William Henry, Elizabeth and Alice. I believe John and Mary were both born in Ireland, but met in the US. John had a brother named Rody, but I am unclear who John and Rody's parents are. I believe both John and Mary died in Connecticut and any information that would help me locate their death records would be appreciated. If you go to: _www.zillow.com_ (http://www.zillow.com) and type in the address you are looking for, it will bring up a satelite view of the Wilton Road area you are looking for. It does not bring up those two particular addresses, which means, that either the numbers have changed over the years, or the houses are no longer there.

I am trying to make a connection with a family from Bridgeport. I am researching the HUMPHRIES family. The in particular family is the one that begins with Charles and Selina Humphries beginning with the 1870 census, both born in England. It appears Charles and Selena, along with their descendants, are buried at Lakeview Cemetery in a family plot. I believe there is at least one surviving descendant, that I am aware of, in this line. This would be the grgrgrandaughter of Charles and Selina. From what I can gather, I believe her name would be Harriet Humphries Goddu. If anyone is connected, I would appreciate validating this Humphries family to mine. I believe we are connected. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Debbie ~KY

My cousin lives on Main Street which leads into what I appear to be Wilton Road. There are lots of old houses in that area. My cousins is built in either the 1850's or 1750's. There is also a town called Wilton, CT which is right next to Westport. I am sorry I am no help. Kerri

He died in Connecticut on 26th June 1943. So far I have been unable to find where he is buried. I have the census for Fairfield, Westport, for 1930 where he is listed as living on Wilton Road. with his wife Catherine. I think it may be 430 and his son at 427. This may be wrong as I cannot read the headings. Could someone confirm this and can anyone tell me if these houses are still standing. Cheers Keith

Though I can't give you anything specific about your question I know something of the area if no one else can help. I believe 5 Mile River is the border between Darien and South Norwalk. We always called that area Rowayton and if you type in a search for Rowayton, CT you will get a list of stuff to choose from. Also I have contacted Norwalk Town Clerk, Vital Records, PO Box, 5125, Norwalk CT, 06856-5125. At the Norwalk website you could get the tel. number. Norm
