    1. Jane Hendrie is probably Lockwood descendant!
    2. Jean Godlewski
    3. Hi Robin, I don't have Jane Hendrie in my database. But what I do have may be of interest. The numbers in brackets are the ID numbers in the error-filled book The Descendants of Robert Lockwood, by F. Holden and E.Dunbar Lockwood, PA I use these numbers as an easy way to ID Lockwoods. Both Alexander Hendrie and Letitia Ford were grandchildren of Lockwood grandmothers and themselves grandparents of grandchildren with the surname Lockwood. Letitia Ford was the daughter of Hannah [594] Lockwood 5 (GERSHAM [38]4, GERSHAM [6A]3, GERSHAM [6]2, ROBERT1, ) and "Deacon" Eliakin Ford . Alexander Hendrie was the son of Hannah [228] Lockwood 6 (SAMUEL [180]5, SAMUEL [49]4, ROBERT [12]3, JONATHAN [1]2, ROBERT1) and William Hendrie. Their daughter 7 Mary Letitia [2165] Hendrie (b: 1836) married Enos Real [2189] Lockwood (b: ca 1853) Enos Real [2189] Lockwood was himself a double Lockwood. His father was Enos Bennett [1288] Lockwood (b. 10/26/1798 d. 11/06/1870) His mother was Ann Maria [1747] Lockwood (b. 1/05/1803) Alexander Hendrie's sister, Mary, maried Phineas Lockwood . Alexander Hendrie's brother, Charles married Hannah Maria [1262] Lockwood Charles and Hannah had a son also named Charles who married a Ferris (Note: Ferris & Lockwood families intermarried, too!) To trace the Lockwood ancestry of this couple, see: http://home.att.net/~jg245/lockwod1.htm#1255 and http://home.att.net/~jg245/lkwd-r9.htm#665 Descendants of Hannah [228] Lockwood and William Hendrie 1 Hannah [228] Lockwood b: 2/09/1751-52 in Gravestone says b. My ancestor Gideon was the brother of the John listed below. Susan ) Sarah Ann is listed as #3317 in the privately published book Some Descendants of Robert Lounsberry of Rye, NY by John M Freund: on pg. 164 "Sarah Anne6 Lounsbury (#3317 ) b. 10 Dec 1818 North Stamford, Fairfield, CT married 12 Oct 1850, Stamford, Fairfield, CT Capt. Charles Hendrie; died 25 Dec. 1875 Fairfield, CT; child #2 of Stephen 5 Lounsbury (#3313) and Sally Irene Waterbury (#3314) NOTE: 1 daughter" I have no information on the name of Sarah Anne and Charles Hendrie's daughter. 4 John Lounsbury b: 3/18/1753 +Jerusha Webb 5 Stephen Lounsbury +Sally Irene Waterbury 6. Sarah Anne6 Lounsbury + Capt. Charles Hendrie 7. a daughter For the rest of the Lounsbury ancestry see: http://home.att.net/~jg245/lounsb2.htm Robin, perhaps your Jane Hendrie is a child of one of the Charles? I never saw documentation of Alexander's son, Charles Hendrie born 4-5-1812. It appears that both Alexander and his brother Charles may each have named a son Charles. You may be in for some confusion telling the cousins data apart. That's all I have! Good Hunting! Susan

    1. Re: Daniel Dickerson
    2. Ed, Your Thomas Dickerson is brother to my Sybil Dickerson. Here's what I got from Old Fairfield, Jacobus, vol. 1, p. 182: The name was usually spelled Dickerson but occasionally Dickinson, of which it was a variant; Thomas Dickerson (Daniel's grandfather)had a grant of a homelot in Fairfield, 16 Feb 1656, which he sold to John Foster. The convenient death of Nicholas Pinion's wife Elizabeth in 1667, the same year that Mary lost her Finch husband, left him an eligible widower for this alliance; on 20 Feb 1677/8, Thomas Dickerson Jr. receipted to James [Joseph James, Thomas's sister Mary's husband] for the full rent for the whole number of years James had had the farm. Also, from New England Families before 16?? (also about Daniel's grandfather): THOMAS, Fairfield, had been at New Haven 1642, and it is unknown when he removed to Fairfield, but there he died about 1658, his inv. being of 11 September 1659, leaving Thomas, 2 daughters and widow Mary. The Richard Whitney information is intriguing. I checked all of Thomas's sisters; none married a Whitney. Sorry I couldn't enlighten on your main question, but I hope the other info is of use. Do you have any information on Thomas the elder (father of Thomas, Lydia's husband)? Like his birthdate, parents, wife's parents... Jeanne White
