Hello the list, Is there someone out there who can please give me the web address or any info about the LDS family history library? I want to start digging into my family history. Thanks in advance, Tony in Arizona.
The LDS Family History Site is: www.familysearch.org You can access where a Family History Center is near you. You can search for you ancestors on the Ancestral File, IGI and Pedigree Resource File all at the same time. The Family History Catalog Library can be searched for books, microfilms, and microfiches that may have your family surname records or State and County records that are available at the Salt Lake Family History Library. If is a microfilm or microfiche you can order it from your local Family History Center and view it there. If you have any more questions please feel free to e-mail me. My name is Lola Stevens and I work at the Ogden Family History Center 45 miles north of Salt Lake City. I only volunteer one day a week, but I can get answers for most questions from the experts at the Center. I hope this helps you. Kind Regards, Lola Stevens Researching: Stevens, Seely, Webb, Weed, Danns, and many others in the Stamford, Connecticut area ----- Original Message ----- From: <ATD694@aol.com> To: <CTFAIRFI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 26, 2001 12:37 PM Subject: [CTFAIRFI] LDS Family history library > Hello the list, > Is there someone out there who can please give me the web address or any > info about the LDS family history library? I apologize if this is redundant, but I have mislaid or erased a message (can't find it any way) that explained what to do if searching for someone who probably died in Connecticut but one is not sure where, and as we know the records are maintained by township rather than by county. Someone kindly posted on this topic not long ago. I think the idea was to communicate with the State Vital Records office and request them to identify the location of the death record. Can the person who posted this please advise me if this is correct? Thank you. Andrea Vangor

My gg-grandfather was Thomas Dimon, born 11 Dec. 1810, married to Sally Emily Treadwell in July 1837 in Weston, Ct. Thomas and Sally moved to Marengo, McHenry Co., Illinois. Does anyone know who the parents of Thomas are? Also, in a Dimon family Bible, a birth is listed for Wakeman Tharp (Thorp) Dimon, born in Fairfield on 15 July 1827. I am wondering if Wakeman could be a brother of Thomas. I found a record of a marriage between a W.T. Dimon and Ann Bogenrief, married July 4, 1853 in McHenry Co., Ill. Thank you for any help. Hello: A short time ago an individual offered to do lookups in a book that dealt with biographies of either Connecticut or Fairfield county. At that time I sent him/her an email requesting a lookup. I have not heard back from that kind person and am wondering what the status is?? I am searching for Christopher Columbus Wells, there were two, (father and son) who lived in Fairfield (town) in the 1800's. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me. Margie Smallfield
