Hi Virginia: There is a catholic cemetary in Stratford Connecticut where my ancestors are buried. They also lived in Bridgeport. I believe the cemetary is called St Michaels. They are somewhat helpful when you call but a lot of their records were destroyed in a fire. I would first check the Hale Cemetary records. It is available throught the Latter Day Saints microfilm. You could also check with the Bridgeport Public library. They are online and very responsive to reference questions. They may look up your ancestor and mail you the copies and then request a fee for copies. Hope this helps Margie Smallfield

Hello, All: I'm new to this list and just starting to look at the REYNOLDS. Mary Jane REYNOLDS was, I think born in Wilton or Georgetown. She married Charles TANNER of Norwalk, but, he may have already moved to Wilton at time of marriage. They had two children- Charles Ernest TANNER, (married Hattie BISHOP.) and a daughter, Ida ,who married either Benjamin PORTER or Christopher ADAMS (not sure which). Would appreciate any help re: Mary Jane. I think she is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk, but, when I went there a few years ago, they said she was not there. Either they had a lot of the names mixed up or a number of the family was buried different than when they were living, as several people who were supposedly buried there , were not! Would appreciate any help with Mary Jane or the REYNOLDS family. Fran

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

By 1800 there were 14 towns established in Fairfield Co. To find an 'offical' record you will need to narrow your time range from just the 1700s or send out 14 letters of inquiry to each town established before 1800. The Connecticut State Library might be of help. They have town record holdings. Keith Smith

There were also a plethora of Taylors, Barnums, Starrs, Dibbles, Along with several Davises -- all in the time frame 1720-1800. I have the impression that these families intermarried more than once.
