I assume since this is a very old message that you already have the information you were looking for; but in case you have not, I am in this Stratton line and have a fairly complete history. Let me know if you still need the information. Julia Stratton Pannier
I have been searching for an Isaac Reynolds who is the father of a Joseph H Reynolds. Several sites on the internet show Joseph's father as an Isaac Reynolds who was born in Horseneck (Greenwich) Ct abt 1789 and had a father named David Reynolds also born in Horseneck ca. 1760. I think the Ct connection is incorrect because I have census records for both Joseph H and Isaac saying that they were both born in Maryland. I'd like to know what you know about the Reynolds family in Ct to see if there is a connection.

Lorrinda, I was referred to you by Mike Shove. I am researching my husband's family. I am looking for information about Andre Shove who married Norma Walker. Norma Walker would be my husband's great aunt. According to Milo Walker's obituary, Norma's brother, they lived in Wausau, WI, Marathon County in 1964. I was wondering if you you would have any information about this Shove family. Thank you. Sandi
Hi Listers, Wow, what a wonderful response! Most of you thought Trinity was either Congregational or Episcopalian but it turns out there are two Trinity Churches in Fairfield and ONE of them is a Baptist church! For the benefit of those of you who live there, it is on N. Benson Rd and the other one is on Tunxis Hill Rd. I think I will try the Baptist one first. For those of you, who asked about the D. L. Jacobus book, I borrowed it via inter-library loan. I believe there are several volumes and the one I received is Vol. 2 (I think). I have a few pages of Smith, Jennings and Jessup names and I would be happy to check out what I do have. I am sure that libraries and historical societies in CT must have this book, as well as FHC's. If anyone can connect to Jehiel SMITH and Pene DAVIS, m. 24 Nov. 1768, I would love to hear from you. As always, I a quite happy to share my info and sources. Thank you all, so very much! It is fun to be on such a marvelous list. Margaret in NV
Hello: I just saw your message. My research shows that John and Ann Sampson Derby Reed had a son William N. Reed who may have died young, according to Sellick's Norwalk (book). Your William would have been perhaps two generations later. Ancient Historical Records of Norwalk, CT. shows that John II married to Elizabeth Tuttle had a William born ll-l6-1708 who married Rachel Kellogg. They had a Wm. Joseph born 10-30-1731 and died 3-20-1733 or 34.Sellick's lists an additional William born to this couple. This probably doesn't add anything useful. Sorry. I found Ann Derby's maiden name in her first husband's will which is in a book in our local library for some odd reason here in Michigan, which is where I also found the incredible book Ancient Historical Records.
Does anyone know if there was a sudden decline in the hat industry about 1900 ? The Henry Hhubbard that I am hunting disappears from Danbury. He was born about 1844 so he would have only been 56. Does anyone have an idea where to look ? Thank you Tony Keefer Pittsburgh, PA area

Hi, I just checked the web site www.civilwardata.com which lists soldiers who served during the war, and I do not see any Andrew Jackson Smith listed. There are a number of Andrew Smith's listed from different states, but I didn't go through the whole list. You might try posting on www.genforum.com on their Civil War site and see if anyone has a CT roster book and/or is able to check on whether he served from NY. He certainly was the right age to be in the war. Good luck! Ginny Gage
Hello Listers, I hope someone can help me with this question-----In "The Families of Old Fairfield" by D. L. Jacobus I notice in the footnotes, at the bottom of his pages, references to baptism's and marriage's, in churches such as "Trinity Church", "Greenfield Church", or simply "Weston" or "Eston". Does anyone know what denomination these churches were? I thought Baptist but now I want to be sure. Thank you for your time! Margaret in NV
I am a Beers descendant of Anthony, through his son Barnabas, and would appreciate any information that you might have on this family. Anthony would be my 8th Great-grandfather. Thanks in advance for whatever you care to share. Doris
Nancy - Read your Roots Web message regarding Francis Amelia Dimon. I have information on Jonathan Sturges Beers, who married Francis, but not much on his wife. My information is from a published book on The Descendants of Anthony Beers. Francis is listed as being born in Salem, Ma. on May 12, 1832, married on Aug. 23, 1852, daughter of James & Amelia [Rope] Dimon. She was referred to by a New Orleans newspaper as "The Florence Nightingale of America". Nine children are listed. If you would like that information, I would be glad to send it to you. Perhaps you already have that. Doris
