Surnames: HURD/TUTTLE/JUDSON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TZ.2ADE/473.544 Message Board Post: Hi, Gloria from another Gloria-- John Hurd, Jr., was born about 1633 in Somersetshire, England. He was the son of Adam Hurd (1606-1671/73) and Hannah Bartram John Hurd, Jr. married Dec. 10, 1662 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT to Anne (Hannah) Tuttle Judson, widow of Joshua Judson . Anne was the daughter of William Tuttle and Elizabeth Matthews. Anne (Hannah) was born Jan. 20, 1632/33 Ringstead, Northampton, England. She came with her parents in 1635 aboard the Planter. She had a cousin also named Hannah or Anne Tuttle who married Thomas Welles and John Pantry and the records get confused. This Hannah Anne Tuttle is the daughter of Richard Tuttle, brother or William Tuttle, and her mother was Ann Taylor. I show the death of John Hurd, Jr., as before 12 Dec. 1690 in Woodbury, CT and that his widow Anne Tuttle Judson Hurd died Aug. 9, 1683 in Hartford, CT. I have more Hurd/Tuttle data if you are interested. - Gloria
I have created a new web site from my database of 105,000+ individuals that includes several families and numerous entries that may be of interest to those with ancestry in Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. There are individual pages for many families indexed on the surname page. The site includes pictures, maps and biographical info, as well as some general genealogy info and some good links. The site is searchable and includes a table of contents. It includes several Fairfield Co. names. My grandmother was born at 35 Austin St., Bridgeport, 3-23-1885. I'm thinking that this is a private home as her grandmother was the person certifying the birth. Would SKS let me know what is at this address (if it still exists). Eva M. Harris was the grandmother. Is there any way that I would be able to find a death certificate for her not knowing when she died? Perhaps SKS would check the 1890 census to see if she is still listed. What church(s) would be around this address? They were of the Methodist faith. Thank you. Please let me know if this query get listed as I've sent others & heard nothing. Thanks & God Bless.
