    1. 1900 Bridgeport census
    2. The 1900 census had finally yielded some results in my BALUNAS search. Thanks to Ancestry.com and their index of the CT>1900 census, I found the BALUNAS family in Bridgeport under the name of BALIMAS. The family was Sylvester BALIMUS, Anastasia BALIMUS {who was my great grandfather's sister} and their two children: Ella BALIMUS {Who is actually Ella DUVAL ==Her father was Anastasia's first husband, Joseph DUVAL} and Tilly which I think is a nickname for PAULINA. They lived on Ridge Avenue. Ella BALUNAS is buried in Bridgeport in the BALUNAS plot in St. Michaels in 1945. So I think the family had ties to the area and they bought the plot while living there. They are originallyfrom Waterbury. I can do look ups in the 1900 CT census for anyone who does not have Ancestry.com. It was very helpful to me. Judy

Surnames: Beffre, Lafay, Theriac Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZ.2ADE/4481 Message Board Post: I am looking for info. on the above named person. She died on 7 Nov. 1950 in Norwalk, Fairfield, Conneticut. She is listed as Beffre but her marital status was "never married" The 1930 census shows her living as man and wife with Wilfred Beffre (in the R.I. area). She had two sons, Elias J.(my husbands grandfather) and Euclid Theriac. In around 1930 they lived in Woonsocket, Rhode Island but moved to Norwalk or South Norwalk after this. My husband's father was brought back to Scotland in 1934 when the marriage?? failed. The only documents I have are a copy of Elias J.'s death certificate and a birth registration certificate for Elias Roger (my father-in-law). Elias may have remarried and his wife's name was possibly Beatrice, they also owned a gas station in the Norwalk area. Euclid is supposed to have lived in this area with his wife Mabel too. I believe both Elias and Euclid moved to Florida but don't know when. Any info on any of these people, no matter how tri! vial could be the piece of the jigsaw I am looking for so please don't hesitate to e-mail me. I have been unable to find any trace of Euclid with the exception of the 1920 census, after that he disappears. Please help if you can. Thanks, Jules

You will have to know when the towns were established. Also check with the Family History Library (www.familysearch.org) as some of the small towns in Connecticut have been microfilmed. The microfilms will have birth, marriages and death records and some church records. Also check with the church that you think they may have belonged to. They may have records going that far back. Hope some of this may help you.
