Don't know if these Greenberg's are related, but in the 1950's and 1960's (and probably before and after those dates) there was a store called Greenberg's on Atlantic Street in Stamford, CT. I believe Archie Greenberg was the owner. My Mom always took my brother there for back to school clothes and many other boys bought their back to school (and other) clothes there. We lived in the next town (Darien). Who knows, this might be a cousin. Good luck in your genealogy research. Kathy
Hello Listers: Frank posted the marriage of this couple last Saturday: My Books Families of Old Fairfield Give the following; Elisha Lincoln Married 18 Apr 1781,Ruamah Crossman. (Greens Farms Church). There was no further info. Hope it helps Frank Does anyone connect to the family of Ruamah Crossman? I have Henry (Arthur) CROSSMAN, b. 1851 in Litchfield, CT to who I think was Silas D. CROSSMAN(the name looked like Sales on the marriage record of Arthur) and Mary E. KANE. Best Wishes, Judy Herbert
Dwight, I am a descendant of John Hobby through his daughter Mary Hobby (b. 1670 - d. after 1713 in Greenwich), who married Steven Holmes (b. 1664 in Stamford, d. 1710 in Greenwich), son of John Holmes and Rachel Waterbury. I have no information about John Hobby's birthplace in England, his immigration, or parents. I have some tentative information about the parents of his wife (Sarah Gray, b. ca 1642, possibly in Fairfield County, d. bef. May 1707 in Fairfield County) from Prindle, *Ancestry of Elizabeth Barrett Gillespie* *(Mrs. William Sperry Beinecke)*, 1976. New Orleans: Polyanthos. I will be glad to share what information I have about this family and their lineage through Emma Walker Mead Beeler (1842-1928), my great grandmother. I look forward to learning more about this family (all branches). Any corrections of the above information would also be appreciated. Sandy Johnson Witt Gainesville, Florida

I created it with an intent to track, to the greatest extent possible, each of the family branches in the US to current day, and to try to connect them all to what, presumably, is the common ancestor in England. I'm still actively in contact with folks, and am happy to share data with folks. There are essentially 5 lines (about 20,000 people) descending from William Hobby of Boston; John of Greenwich, CT; Lawrence of Henrico Co, VA; Jane of Salem, MA and Dorothy of Boston. All arrived in the mid to late 1600s, but I still can't connect the dots back to England, and the southern line gets really shaky in the mid to late 1700s as it branches out through North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Feel free to email me with either queries or help me with extending what we know of the family. I greatly appreciate any additional gedcom or data files folks can share. Happy hunting! Dwight Marvin

Your local LDS library has free access to this database. It is wonderful when SKS can look these things up but sometimes you miss something very important because that person did not realize that particular article would be of great help to you. Happy Hunting, Joyce in San Antonio. TX
