I am also doing my bridgeport family search and can help you out as well, if you don't mind a small research fee of $10 plus 10 cents for copies made. I can do a city directory search of this person and if I am able to trace her through the years I may be able to come up with a death date and possibly an obit. If you are interested please e-mail me back.

Surnames: Gormley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZ.2ADE/4829.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear Sarah: Yes she and Thomas Gormley were married in Bridgeport in 1889 and just yesterday I requested their marriage record from Bridgeport Vital Records. So, in 1888 she would have still been single and of working age, having been born in 1869 in Ireland. I have not seen a Bridgeport directory, but based upon other directories I have seen, I am hoping it might list her address and occupation. Any information about her would add to what I have now. So, yes, if you send me a photocopy of a page that lists her, I will pay you for it.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZ.2ADE/4829.1 Message Board Post: Hello I am also doing my own family research in bridgeport. I am familar with the city directories for i have used them countless times. They are invaluable. What exactly are you hoping to find in the 1888. When it came to women they weren't listed along side their spouses until 1924. Other than that the only way they would be listed was if they were widowed or single but of working age. Now you mention she got married a year later. Did they get married in Bridgeport. I have helped someone with their search and I can help you if you don't mind a small search fee of $10 plus 10 cents for copies made. If they got married in bridgeport i can probably find a marriage record for you. I go to the local library to do my own family research, so I would be able to help you out too. Or you can call the local library and have them help you. It all depends on what specifics you have to go on and what exactly your looking for.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MILLS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZ.2ADE/1722.2278 Message Board Post: Julia: On this site rootsweb.com, Gary44238@adelphia.net has this family listed on his database. I put the family information onto my computer and made a gedcom that I also sent to him. I found that families information a long time ago, from microfilm that I read, and made a copy of it. I was trying to find some link to my family MILLS of Dayton, Montgomery Co. Ohio. But it did not link up. The name that clicked with me was Harriet Melissa MILLS, who married Ernest M SMITH. Daniel MILLS married Mary POTTER DUNBAR, and their child, Albin Daniel MILLS, who married Dotha FORD, and their daughter Marilla who married Daniel WRIGHT, were the names that clicked with me. So I knew what information I had were the right family links to Gary's information. I am still trying to link up the John MILLS, listed as being B: 1733, and OF Sussex Co, NJ, UE Loyalist of Ontario, Canada, to the other MILLS men listed on the web site, www.familytreedna.com under MILLS, category 160. Those match my brother's DNA kit we had tested, #33009. Pat cw

Surnames: O'Connor, Gormley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZ.2ADE/4829 Message Board Post: Is there an 1888 city directory for Bridgeport, CT? If so, I am hoping that someone can look for a listing for a female O'Connor, first name probably would show as Katie. The next year, in 1889, she married my great-grandfather, Thomas Gormley, and I am hoping that an 1888 listing might provide a fact or two about her. Thank you for your attention.

    2. Dear Listers: I am helping my son-in-law, Cliff Giles, research his mother's lines and have traced an Eli B. Weed (b. 1804) line back to Connecticut. He was born somewhere in Fairfield County and then the family went to Tioga County, PA where Eli is on the 1830 census with only a wife. His son Seth Thomas Weed was born Jul 1832 in Tioga County. Eli later moved to Hocking Co., OH ( 1840 census) and then to Vinton County, OH (1850 census). Does anyone know where and how this Eli Weed connects to the Weeds in Fairfield County? Thank you for any help you can give us. We looking forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Janice Connell Whidbey Island, Washington State
