Return to Sweden seems to be a little early: His son Gustaf Fredrik was born in Bridgeport March 15 1892. GF recalled catching crabs on the beach. Could he have recalled this less than 3 years old. Probaly not. He is said to return to Sweden when 5 years old, which then would be 1897. (besides "rem to Sweden" there are statement of rem to Delaware and to Naugatuck????) August´s employment is slightly confusing: he was building contractor and when returning to Sweden he bought a multistore stone house, which is proving that he had made some money "over there". Thank you for helping me to find information about my fathers first five years in USA. rgds Berit Anderson

I have seen some wooden buildings in Bridgeport that in style are similar to those in Falkenberg Sweden. Because Gustaf caught malaria the parents were advised by a doctor to return to Sweden, which they did 1897. Can you help me to find information about their years in USA? According to church records, he marries Katharine CLUM (b. (His wife remains in the area, keeps the kids, and remarries.) Henry may appear again in Ohio in the 1880 census with a new wife and child. Then he disappears completely. no Ohio death records for a Henry Summers Banks, that I have been able to find. With a middle name of Summers, he might be descended from one of the two Banks men who married Summers women. no proof found. There is in the Fairfield census a man who I think is a different Henry Banks from mine, b in Fairfield in 1824, but he seems to have spent his whole life there. Other than his wife/wives and children, I haven't been able to identify any other relatives. My personal brick wall. -- Linda,

Trying to locate obits on them or any other articles pertaining to them. Clarence disappears from the city directories in 1914 so I would say he died between 1913-14, and Leonard I believe died in Hillside home between 1927-28. Both of these gentlemen would have been in their elderly years at time of death. Both of these men were born in the 1840's. Sarah

    2. Judy in Ocala
    3. I live in Florida. Where did he die? Would there have been an obit for him here, or was he just visiting? I'll help if I can. Judy in Ocala PS. I'm also a Hoyt from Stamford. My nearest Hoyt ancestor is my 8G GM Abigail Hoyt, b. 1674/75 Norwalk, m. John Ferris, 1695 Stamford, d. Greenwich, date unknown. I am descended from her son John Ferris. In the early 1800s the Ferrises migrated to Putnam County, NY and eventually to Oswego County where many of their descendants still are today. However, in 1915, my grandmother left Oswego to take her first teaching position in Greenwich, probably unaware that it was her family's original home. And so it goes full circle. My entire family was born in Stamford, home of our ancestors. -----Original Message----- From: GWGEHoyt@aol.com [mailto:GWGEHoyt@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 03, 2006 5:54 PM To: CTFAIRFI-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Stamford Obituary Dear CT Friends, I'm in hopes that there would be somone who would go to the basement of the Ferguson Library in Stamford and pull an obituary for me from their microfilm collection. If so, it is of my uncle Richard P. Hartmann, and he died on December 16 1975 in Florida. I would think his obituary would be in the Advocate in the December 1975 time period between the 17th and 25th. I would be willing to reimburse for copying and mailing expenses. Sincerely, George Hoyt (formerly of Stamford, but now of Glen Ivy CA) ______________________________

    1. A problem with Asahel Weed b. 1Jan 1756 son of Amos
    2. Dear Listers: I have come across a possible discrepancy between who should be the wife of Asahel Weed b. 1 Jan 1756, son of Amos b. 15 Jul 1722. In the Danbury Town Records LDS film # 0002696 his wife is listed as Martha (maiden name unknown) and the children are Daniel, Levi, Phio, Ezra, Charles, and Zar. In the "Descendants of Jonas Weed" Hannah Hoyt is listed as Asahel's wife and there is a diffrent lineup of children: Elizabeth, Mary, John, Anna, Asahel Jr. I'm more inclined to believe the Danbury records on microfilm. Does anyone know anything about this possible discrepancy? Thank you for your help and input. Sincerely, Janice Connell Whidbey Island, Washington State
