Ithamar Pelton6, first son of Josiah5, John4, John3, Samuel2, John1, born Essex, Conn., October 26, 1769; married, summer of 1791, Mercy Griffin. He lived in Essex, Vt., from about 1794 to 1805, in the fall of which latter year he removed to Gustavus, O., where he settled on a farm and there died, March 16, 1832. His wife Mercy (b. Feb. 25, 1774) died September 14, 1844. Children: I Eunice Loraine (shortened to Laura), born May 4, 1792; married Gustavus, O., July 10, 1808, Roger Perkins; farmer (b. in Connecticut); d. in Illinois, July 11, 1855. II Flora, born in Connecticut, Sept., 1793 (as given by Mrs. Elizabeth Mowry); died June, 1797. III Oritta, born in Essex, Vt., Feb. 9, 1795; married (1) Feb. 14, 1813, Jasper Partridge, who died July 6, 1831; (2) about 1839, John Williams. Lived Gustavus, O., until her second marriage, then in Coldbrook, Ashtabula Co., O., where she died, Mar. 22, 1845. Children, nine; by the first marriage. IV Achsah, born in Essex, Vt., Aug. 6, 1797; married in 1814, Noah Folsom. Lived in Wayne, Ashtabula Co., O., and in Baconsburg, O.
