I recently was given this old family Bible anad have transcribed the handwritten notes found all through it as best I can. If anyone wants to discuss it with me in more detail I'd be glad to. This Bible (1797) was owned by the following persons: Abijah Peck Jesse Peck Mayor Henry Peck Henry Peck Fanny Ward Peck Clarke Jessie R. Clarke Baxter sister of Frederick Clarke Elsie Baxter Carol A. Hammond White - granddaughter of Frederick Clarke (written on HJ Heinz Co. business card of:) G. R. Clark 30-34 Eastern Ave. Boston, MA This is the Bronson bible, so named by me because Jesse Peck made a note in pencil showing the relationship between the Pecks and Bronsons. The book was first owned by Abijah Peck and came to Jesse, the father of Everard, Henry and Jesse and Emily. And so it came to Mayor Henry Pecks son Henry and given by him to his daughter Fannie, wife of Redfield Clarke. This book once belonged to Jesse Peck who died in Rochester in 1823. it was owned by Henry Peck of New Haven, his son, and after his death to me Henry Peck (jr) by his widow, formerly Jerusha Clarke, my mother.
