    3. While we're on the subject of brick walls in Vermont, I thought I would present mine to the list. According to THOMAS GRAVES OF HARTFORD, CT AND HATFIELD, MA, by Ken Graves, based on the work of John Card Graves, Pamelia STILES married Gamaliel GRAVES in Feb. 1820. They lived in Williamstown, Orange Co., VT, where most of their children were born. They moved to Illinois in the early 1840s. Gamaliel GRAVES' life is well documented (born 1796 in Whately, Mass and died 1854 in Waucanda, Ill, the son of Joel Graves and Lucy Martin), but I cannot place Pamelia in a STILES family. I have no birth, marriage, or death record. The Graves book says that she was "of St. Albans." She reported in the 1850 census that she was born in NY; her son reported in the 1880 census that his mother was born in Canada. She was born about 1798 and supposedly died in 1871 in Orleans, Orange Co., IN. I have traced her children (with only partial success), researched on site in Indiana and Vermont, researched at the DAR Library, and communicated with the Graves and Stiles family associations. I have even visited Leon Stiles, family historian, in Penn Yan, NY to do research. Any help from the list would be most appreciated! Kearby Parker Easton, MD
