My gggrandfather, according to his enlistment papers for the war of 1812, said he was born in Hartford,CT. he enlisted in Derby, CT. But he is listed as a soldier from VT. I can't find a birth record for him in VT. of CT. assuming there is something to find. Does anyone have any suggestions where to look?
