Hi Brenda I don't know if you remember me ... we corresponded this spring and discovered we are cousins through HICKS ..... your James, son of Oliver is brother to my Jacob, son of Oliver.... Anyway, I'm most curious about your connection to the Nims! I believe (but haven't positively proven) that I am a descendant as well. I just need proof that Maria GROUSBECK's mother was Lucy DAY. (Maria was the dau of Nicholas Grousbeck; her obit says she was born in Marlboro VT in 1829. I had planned to go to Marlboro today, but found out yesterday the Town Office is open on M W Th only ...... guess where I'll be next Thurs!!!) Maria Grousbeck was the mother of Lewis Hicks, son of Lorenzo, who was the son of Jacob. Maria's (most likely) mother was Lucy DAY whose parents were Giles DAY and Sarah DAY (They were some sort of cousins which I haven't taken the time to calculate.) Sarah DAY's mother was Sarah MUNN, whose mother was Thankful NIMS whose father was Godfrey NIMS I'm firing this off and going to visit the Nims Family Web Site. The reunion sounds like an absolutely delightful event!! I'll keep it in mind for the future if the proof I need is slow in coming!!
