    3. Connecticut did not issue birth certificates in 1790. If you are lucky, the town in which the person was born will have a record of the birth. You might also try checking the Barbour Collection which is available on microfilm through the LDS Family History Centers. It is also available in the CT State Library and the Simsbury (CT) Genealogy Library. The Barbour Collection is also being published in book form. The towns are arranged alphabetically. Volume 33, containing Orange, Oxford, and Plainfield has just been released. Look for them in the genealogy libraries in your area.
