Two other books (which I read as a child, living in Springfield, MA, just S. of Deerfield and descended on my mother's side from very early New England roots) are: "The Redemmed Captive (Returning to Zion)", by John Williams, Minister of the Gospel in Deerfield, and "The Boy Captive of Old Deerfield", by Mary P. W. Smith. Richard, Who are some of the other captives mentioned in the book. Some people may not realize that an ancestor of theirs was one of those captives.
