Hi Bonnie I tried that site it doesn't help me. I have his 1812 enlistment papers and pension papers. Right now I am trying to find out where he was born and who his parents were. He seems to have appeared in 1812, his birth would have been in 1797, then there is no record of him until after the war when he gets married in VA. My problem is that everything says he was born in VT. census, marriage application etc. but his enlistment papers say CT. So I am not even sure about the state.
