He held title to large tracts of land in town, 1197-1/2 acres as revealed by the Prison Tax of 1807 (TR, book not cited). His estate settlement showed him owning land in Plymouth, Roxbury and Grafton plus 18 shares in teh Green Mountain Turnpike and 12 shares in the connecticut River Turnpike (Westiminster PR, E:410). His home farm and residence was located just west of the road Brockways Mills (formerly Lawrence Mills), on the south side of the present Vermont Route 103 (Rockingham 3, 258) where the cellar hole of his house was still visible in 1989. He was a member of the Church of England (Rockingham 2, 161) and when the Protestant Episcopal Society in Rockingham was formed in 1799, he was one of its earliest members, serving as vestryman in 1803 and 1805 to 1812 (Immanuel Church, Bellows Falls, records, book not cited). He was one of the five petitioners for the organization of the "Lawrence Mills School District" which became known as the "Elijah Lovell School District" (TR, PRD film #2469, no date given).
