Hello Roger; The following is taken from Judd's History of Hadley 1905: GAYLORD, William, s. of Samuel, b. May 5, 1711 rem. from Hadley to S.H. (South Hadley), and d. Aug. 20, 1798. M. 1733, Elizabeth SCOVILL. Children- Elizabeth, b. Aug. 31, 1734; Mary, b. Jan 7, 1735; Catherine, b. Nov. 8, 1737, m. Dec.22, 1762, Ezekial Day of West Springfield, and d. Sept. 28, 1824, ae. 86; William; Oliver, b. Dec. 7, 1740; Nathaniel, b. Sept. 8, 1742; Eliphalet, b. Oct. 28, 1744; Meribah, b. July 3, 1746, m.________Ashley; Ebenezer, b. Sept. 12, 1749. WIlliam GAYLORD, FATHER of Samuel, came to Hadley after being born in Windsor, Ct in 1651. There is no mention of any CAREW in Hadley or a marriage of Mary GAYLORD to anyone in Hadley.
