Does anyone on this list have GRANT forebears? We are looking for George Clinton GRANT born 1812 CT. George married Eliza Haddon and they lived in NYC from about 1840 to 1850, then purchased land in Monmouth Co, NJ. Family says he was a potato farmer. Family also says they relate to Ulysses S. GRANT line. We have found no proof of same, and our George is apparently not listed in the Arthur Hastings book of GRANT family. We could discount the supposed connection except that our eldest son is a double for General Grant in his wartime photos. Any clues appreciated. Pat GRANT <[email protected]>
