My CT River Valley Connection is that I live in a suburb of Hartford. I was born in the Hartford area as were my parents. My maternal grandparents were born in Sweden although my grandfather grew up in Hartford and most of his siblings were born in Hartford. My paternal grandfather was born in Iowa, and my paternal grandmother was born in New Brunswick, Canada. My paternal greatgrandfather was born in Pennsylvania in and his family moved further and further west during the 1800's. I am researching that line all over the country. In addition to this list I also belong to the Hartford and Middlesex County lists in this area. Although I don't take requests, I try to help people looking for information in this area. I pick and choose what I do by what I think I can do and what I have time to do. Doing this has given me much practical, hands-on experience using various types of sources to do genealogical research. This type of learning is helping me research my own family long distance.
