(Not me!) > Coralynn Coralynn, My goodness, you are so right! I have a Silas Stewart MALLISON (1792 unknown place) who disappeared into that "black hole" in NY state. I *finally* found him with his second wife on an 1865 NY census for Farmington, Ontario Co., NY: Fam. 68 - Silas S. Mallison Farmington 1865, p. 9, line 34; 68- Thankful Mallison Farmington 1865, p. 9. But I haven't been able to locate his actual death date/cemetery. Which would you suggest I write to: the town clerk there or is there a county office which might be a better place to inquire? I need a push! Nina
