I am Susan Davis SNELGROVE Moore. I was born, and lived in Windsor, CT from 1942 until 2000 when we moved to Tolland, MA. My family lines are all centered around Mass Bay, Plymouth Colony, Connecticut. My Woodworth line travels to NS and VT from CT. My Osborns [my PROBLEM] line is in CT>Northampton and Springfield, MA>Martinsburg, Lewis, NY. I come to a dead stop with the marriage of Isaac Osborn of Somers to Jemima????? in the mid 1700's. Jemima and I have been playing hide and seek since 1992!!!%^*($#. BTW, Moore is my married name, and is right out of modern England... I connect to first families of many of the CRV towns. I have been doing on-line genealogy research since 1992 when I purchased my first computer - that would be back when we talked about the impossible dream of transcribing records and getting them online - and the naysayers said it could not be done!!!!. I presently volunteer on RAOGK for Granville, Tolland and surrounding towns in Hampden county, MA. Tolland, Hampden, MA records were not part of the copying program that the NEHGS did. I wonder why. I would like to have the time to translate/copy the early records that exist and get them posted somewhere - in my dreams......... I own Stiles History of Ancient Windsor, vol I and II; The Taylor Family History, Descendants of Stephen Taylor 1618-1688 and Sara Hosford -1647 by Peter Taylor, 1992 [I no longer need this Taylor info]; The Descendants of Richard Lyman of Hartford, A Preliminary Study of the First Five Generations by Donna Holt Siemiatkoski, M.A., 1992; and several CD's. I have a data base that I created of the Osborns as they appear in the Stiles History of Ancient Windsor that I am willing to share. That's about it folks, regards, sm
Susan, is there a LEWIS TAYLOR listed in your Taylor book????? He is my Taylor brick wall!! Born May 1799, married to Abigail Hall in Somers CT in 1821, had 11 children before she died giving birth to the 11th. He married 2nd in 1855 to Betsey Waters of Springfield, MA. Lewis died in 1868 and is buried in Somers. I have NO proof of who his parents are, and have been searching for same for better than 20 years. Thanks for any help you may provide!!
