He is descended from Hugh Cole, son of James Cole of Plymouth. ** GARDNER also of Leverett, Mass. Burden's wife was Abigail Gardener, daughter of Andrew [and Rebecca Cook?] **CASWELL, Townsend, migrated from Taunton,Bristol Co.,Mass to Wendell,Franklin Co.,Mass. He descends from Thomas Caswell of Taunton,early settler. Townsend married Betsy Holden, dau of Benjamin and Catherine(Holden) holden,also of Leverett,Mass. **Holden,Richard came on the ship "Francis" in 1634, settled Charlestown. ** DROWN, David of Sheffield and Lyndonville area of Caledonia County,VT Frank Drown came to Greenfield,Mass in 1890's with his family. Need to find which Down family he connects with in that area. David COULD have been son of Joseph and Hannah, born about 1823. and there was another David born in 1777 and died 1857. Only way I found David was on my g-grandfather's death certificate. It has been said that the Drown's migrated from Canada....I doubt it.. Possibly from the coastal area of NH. or RI.
