Four generations of his family lived in Groton, Conn. he moved to Colrain sometime after the Revolution. Thomas was an armorer, Congressman during the Jefferson administration, and served during the Revolution, when he was sergeant, 2nd lieutenant and first lieutenant in Jedediah Huntington's regiment, receiving his commission in 1777. Later he was a captain of militia. He was present at the siege of Boston and at the Battle of Long Island. He was married to Hannah SMITH on 7 Jul 1768 in Groton, New London, Connecticut. 7.
