Hi, everyone! I am searching for Joseph RIANT supposedly born in E. Haddam, CT in 1757. No records have been found. He was a Revolutionary War veteran, enlisting in 1776 at E. Haddam for the Mass. line. In 1778, he enlisted in the 3rd NH militia. He lived for a time in Temple, NH. Joseph married Sally POWERS (Isaac, Thomas, Joseph, Thomas, Walter) about 1783 in Dorchester, MA. No records found yet. Their first child, Sarah/Sally RIANT was born in Dorchester in 1783. The rest of their children were born in Franklin Co., ME. There were thirteen children in all. I don't know if any of this area is covered by the CT. River Valley, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I've been forty years looking for this guy and I know that I will find him soon. There are several other people looking for him and they have been most helpful to me in trace Sally POWERS and several lines of Joseph and Sally's descendants.
