He was born in Eastbury Society, Glastonbury, Conn. He served under Gen. Washington in teh Revolution, and used to entertain his descendants with stories of his commander, and especially of Lady Washington, for whom he once made a wardrobe, which gave her great satisfaction, but him still more, as he never tired of telling of it. He was a tall, straight, active, strong, and ambitious. He enjoyed vigorous health until he was more than seventy years of age, and retained a considerable degree of strength and his sight, hearing, and memory until his death. He settled in what is now South Manchester, Conn., and the farm which he owned is now owned by the husband of his great-granddaughter, Mrs. Martha (Hollister) Taylor. Josiah HOLLISTER and Asenath SWETLAND were married. 3. Asenath SWETLAND was born on 15 SEP 1763. She died on 5 JUN 1844. Josiah HOLLISTER and Asenath SWETLAND had the following children: i.
