The towns of Suffield, Enfield, and Somers were all part of Springfield, MA in the 1600's. The permission for settlements to be established was granted by the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and the history of these towns was closely tied to the history of Springfield until 1749. Back in the summer of 1999 there was extensive historical and genealogical information about Springfield posted on the CRV list.
