Enlisted 7/24/1862, mustered in 9/1/1862, promoted Corporal 9/6/1862, promoted Sergeant 10/23/1863, taken prisoner 6/23/1864, released 4/28/1865. Additional records indicate he was Andersonville inmate number #45013. --------- Sidney Barr is written by some as: >2. Sydney Levi Barr, b. Weathersfield, 30 Nov., 1869. He m. Edna Wilson of >Ludlow and removed to Bridgewater, Mass. Sidney is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Bridgewater, MA. His headstone reads: BARR 1869 SIDNEY L. 1946 HIS WIFE 1882 AURILLA S. 1974 The caretaker at the Cemetery showed me his records which says: Sidney L. Barr 1946 76 grave 1 Aurilla 1974 92 grave 2 The Bridgewater Town Clerk looked up the following info: Mr. and Mrs. Barr lived at 739 No. Main St. They first registered to vote in 1924 Mrs. Barr moved to Orleans, MA in 1973 Sidney must have had two wives.
