I always knew that the border of Mass was further north than what it is now.....I just found out in the "History of Warwick,Mass" that the border PRIOR to 1740... went as far north as Charlestown,NH and extended east to the Merricmac River. Also, between 1734-1748, several "Canada Townships" were granted to the survivors of the Expedition to Canada in 1690. Those that went, only 1 survived out of the group, the grants were given to the heirs. and those towns today are: ** Warwick,Mass ** Guildford,Vt ** Ashburnham,Mass ** Winchendon,Mass. ** Athol,Mass ** Upper Ashuelot [now Keene,NH] Those subscribers who bought the 1780 map will see these towns listed on the map like : Canada to Rowley, Canada to Salem, Canada to Dorchester, Canada to Ipswich, and so on. I have posted the names of men who were in the "Expedition to Canada,1690" and it's in the list-search for both of these lists.
